Whicheloe (152/4) beat Western Flyers (151/5) by 6 wickets.
Match Report -
A day after a very hard defeat saw the Flyers in League action vs Whicheloe. Once again the Flyers were short on players and infact were playing with the same 9 from the previous evening. This time Owen had successfully won the toss and opted to bat first.
Whicheloe chased down the target with 10 balls to spare but a top effort from all the Flyers fielders who put their bodies on the line to limit as many runs as possible. One would think a closer match would have ensued had they fielded a full 11.
Tim was awarded Man of the Match for the 2nd game in a row for his heroic innings which has also put him firmly at the top of the tree for highest run scorers this season.

WFCC in form batsman Tim and Ian on show |
A day after a very hard defeat saw the Flyers in League action vs Whicheloe. Once again the Flyers were short on players and infact were playing with the same 9 from the previous evening. This time Owen had successfully won the toss and opted to bat first.
It was business as usual with the opening pair as Tim and Saveen continued their great form in the same manner as the previous evening. They were watchful, solid in defence, ran the quick 1s, 2s and 3s and dispatched the bad ball accordingly. Tim was in supreme form as he never looked threatened at all against the Whicheloe attack and seemed to be coming into his own by the way he was manoeuvring the field with ease. Saveen had departed after a well-made 23. Nathan came in at 3 and hit a couple of quick boundaries to keep the score ticking but was soon to depart for 8. Ian came in a played a good supporting hand to Tim and looked to stabilise the innings towards a formidable total. Ian was dismissed but the new batsmen Imran (29) continued supporting Tim brilliantly as they both took advantage of the balls remaining to ensure the Flyers reached a competitive score of 151-5 in their 20 overs.
Tim finished not out on 77 which is the 2nd highest individual T20 score for the Flyers. His knock included 10 4s and a 6 in what was a well-paced and flawless innings full of textbook cricketing shots. Great work Tim!
The difficulty of fielding with 9 players was well and truly a problem for the Flyers given the experiences of the previous evening and a massive headache for Captain Owen. The Flyers did bowl and field in good spirit with Yameen providing a quiet start with the ball and Owen bowling a firey spell from the other end which included bowling the opener with a superb yorker. The very competent Whicheloe batsmen knew that they needn’t lose their head given the wide open spaces in the field and went along at a brisk pace without any concern of the asking rate. The fact that good balls were being casually taken for 2s at regular intervals was the most frustrating aspect for the Flyers as it meant they could not build pressure on the batsmen. Imran bowled his heart out and was rewarded with 2 wickets with catches expertly taken by Ian and Saveen. Saveen also chipped in with 1 wicket getting the batsmen caught behind by Ian, this time not so expertly in what could be called a backward rolling somersault juggle with the ball eventually grasped on his chest.
